Leblon is the neighborhood that continues Ipanema past the Jardim de Alah canal, up to the foot of Dois Irmãos Hill. The beach tends to be calmer than Copacabana and central Ipanema, and the neighborhood is known for its restaurants, bars and bookshops.

What to see

  • The Avenida Delfim Moreira seafront: good for walking or cycling to Ipanema and Arpoador.
  • The Leblon lookout (Mirante do Leblon): at the end of the beach, on the way up to Avenida Niemeyer, with a view of the whole seafront to Arpoador.
  • Dois Irmãos Hill: seen up close, it fills the whole horizon.

Getting there

The metro reaches Leblon at Antero de Quental station, on Line 4. From Ipanema, the walk along the seafront is pleasant.
